Day 1: Does God Actually Know Me?
7 DAYS OF GETTING TO KNOW GOD

Does God Actually Know Me?
Ever feel like nobody really gets you?
Maybe you've got friends and family around you, but there's still stuff going on in your head that nobody knows about.
Sometimes you might not even understand it yourself.
So here's a question.
If God is real, does He actually know you?
Not just your name or what everybody else sees.
Your thoughts. Your struggles. Even the stuff you don't tell anybody.
That's what we're exploring today.
Today's Reading
Psalm 139
Read the entire chapter.
If you have a physical Bible, I recommend using it. It's easier to focus without notifications and other distractions. If you don't have one nearby, no worries. Use the link below.
If you're new to reading Scripture, the New Living Translation (NLT) is generally easier to understand. And if you don't know where Psalms is in a physical Bible, use the table of contents. That's what it's there for.
Let's Talk About It
Psalm 139 is a prayer traditionally attributed to David, who was a king of Israel.
David describes a God who knows everything about him. His thoughts. His actions. Even the private things nobody else sees.
He even asks where he could go to escape God's presence.
His answer? Nowhere.
Think about that for a second.
We spend a lot of time worrying about what other people think of us. Our worth. Our popularity. Whether we fit in.
But David believed God knew him completely, even before he was born.
So what if your worth isn't determined by your popularity, your mistakes, or somebody else's opinion?
Now, you might've noticed some pretty strong language toward David's enemies near the end.
Psalms contains real prayers from people experiencing real emotions, including anger, fear, and grief. Expressing an emotion doesn't automatically mean you should act on it.
And notice how David finishes.
He asks God to examine his own heart, reveal what's wrong, and lead him in the right direction.
David isn't just asking God to deal with everybody else. He's inviting God to work on him, too.
Think About It
If God really knows everything about you, does that make you feel comforted, uncomfortable, or a little bit of both?
You don't need a perfect answer. Just be honest.
Today's Challenge
Find two quiet minutes.
Put your phone down and think about something you've been carrying lately. Maybe stress, a friendship, or something happening at home.
If you're willing, try praying:
God, I don't really know You yet. But if You're real, and You really know me like this chapter says, help me understand what that means.
Before You Go
You don't have to know everything about God to start getting to know Him.
One day. One chapter. One step at a time.
Keep asking questions. Keep reading.
And don't just take my word for it. Find out what the Bible actually says.
